Poems for learning English

When I was young

By Your Teacher

When I was young I could run and run,
Though now I am older, I walk.
When I was a child I could be very wild,
But now I am happy to talk.

Back in my youth I couldn't drive,
I was never able to learn.
But now I can sit behind the wheel,
And make a three point turn.

I'm older and wiser, an English adviser,
I can set you any test.
But in a few years I'll retire, no tears,
And then I'll be able to rest.
